Danny Kiranos Instagram – I wanted a dedicated post to thank @talleycaster, who spent more time with me writing and producing this record than anyone should be able to put up with, and @dietzjason who handled all the physical recording and engineering to make it sound exactly how I imagined these songs. For the majority of the process, it was just the three of us huddled around a last minute studio setup thrown together in my basement after the initial recording plans had fallen through… cables running through the air vents to connect the rooms… It was a chance we took on ourselves, especially @zingersrh who rooted for us even when we doubted our ability to make this record on our own. Thank you for helping us make it a reality.
Jason, you truly are an anomaly when it comes to making unusual spaces work and sound amazing. Anyone else (especially us again) that gets to record with you will be lucky to have your touch on their songs. Also, thank you for putting up with both of us in full gremlin mode 😂
Talley is the first person I’ve ever shared the song writing space with. I’ve always shut out the world while writing but I knew I could trust these ideas for songs I had in his hands. Thank you brother for letting me throw so many ideas at you, so many ramblings and fears and conversations… thank you for shoveling words out from under me when they piled up and I needed to find a stable ground. Thank you for bringing your kindness and brilliance to this record and diving as deeply into the mania as I usually do alone. I’m honored that we brought these songs to life together.
I have so much more I feel about making this record but using words for moments like these is like trying to show the vastness and beauty of a canyon with a photograph.
We were terrified those first few days but fuck, we did it. I’m proud of us.
