I wrote a long passage about love. Then I got tired of hearing myself speak. We know what love is. We just have to do it. I just have to do it. Beyond our imaginary lines. We have to love just as universally as the love that found us on the day of our first breath. Without being owed it, or having earned it. We must be in the service of love, not the other way around. And we must extend into the discomfort and love there, especially there. The cracks in our faceless systems of scale have exposed a raw nerve, the living taproot of love. Seeking fresh water. May we breathe deep and accept the challenge. To wring our hearts out in the face of our fears, to each supply a drop. To create a wave. The flood that will fertilize our future. That’s the belonging we’ve been longing for. And that’s why love feels like home.
