Having some chats during feeding time with some majestic elephants in rehabilitation at an ethical sanctuary in Phuket. Many were rescues from work sites or entertainment and still bear the scars from years of mistreatment at the hands of profiteers. The way these sweet and gentle animals were cared for made my heart swell. They are a symbol of the sweeping grace of Nature. Looking into her intelligent eyes, I felt a deep rumbling, a conviction, “humans must do better, we are in a contract with the rest of the natural world, whether we acknowledge it or not”. | Posted on 11/Feb/2022 13:43:09
