Jim Lee Instagram – Congratulations to our daughter @brittanym.jpg who graduated today from @lmucfa with a masters in family therapy with a specialization in art therapy!
It could not have been a more beautiful day to celebrate her long and challenging journey to this particularly magical moment. It was a culmination of many years dedicated to her studies, overcoming personal adversities, and transferring from one university to another until she found the undergrad program that spoke to her and academic passions.
She loved the program so much she was determined to join the Masters graduate program which had about two dozen open spots.
Cut to two years later as our Brittany made her way this morning to the podium to receive her advance degree, making her dream a reality.
Grad school in particular brings with it an incredibly rigorous and demanding academic program as well as working in the field with real life cases which are often traumatic and unsettling to say the least.
Through it all, she persevered and overcame, balancing academics with her growing responsibilities as a developing therapist.
It takes both incredible inner strength and empathic outreach to do what she does, and we could not be any prouder.
We want to thank her loved ones, her friends, and all her incredible academic mentors for their support and being in her corner. It’s a testament to the power of love, friendship and advocacy in all walks of life.
