Jonathan Bennett Instagram – @spamalotbway put in rehearsal complete ✅Now I understand why they call it a black out. You literally black out! These beautiful clowns wore pink to celebrate my put in rehearsal, and I need to call them out. I walked into this process completely vulnerable, and afraid of the unknown. I have never done a Broadway show, nor did I know the rehearsal process or how it would feel. It’s also a weird feeling because as a replacement, you’re walking into a family that’s already established and are the new guy. But on day one of rehearsing with this cast I learned why Spamalot is so special. It’s the people in the Spam Fam. I was instantly welcomed and made to feel at home. “Hey, we are here for you; we’ve got your back. Anything you need we got you; you’re gonna do so good. We are so excited to have you. How can I help you?” EVERY. SINGLE. PERSON.
Then it clicked, and I understood, and my Sir Robin monologue hit deeper this time.
“Broadway is a very special place, filled with very special people. People who can sing and dance, often at the same time. They are a different people, a multi talented people, a people who need people. And who are in many ways the luckiest people in the world.”
💙 Now I get it. Thank you so much for the past two weeks of support and I can’t wait to go to Camelot with all of you.
