Julián Castro Instagram – Change happens in community!
Last week was another exciting week for the @latinocommfdn that reminded us of the importance of LCF’s leadership in this moment.
On Wednesday, LCF had the honor of hosting @Andrea_Vidadurre_, the North American @goldmanprize Winner! The Prize recognizes individuals from around the world for their sustained and significant efforts to protect and enhance the natural environment. The LCF Team and Latino Giving Circle members had the opportunity to connect with Andrea to learn more about her work with @pc4ej in the Inland Empire.
Continuing with our commitment to collaboration, our CEO @JulianCastroTX joined @CAGovernor Gavin Newsom and leaders from the philanthropic sector for the 2024 State of Philanthropy Summit in Sacramento. Together with Sierra Health Foundation CEO @chetphewitt and Senior Advisor for Social Innovation, Elena Chavez, they discussed the importance of deepening government and philanthropic investments in California.
Heading to the Bay Area, the team met with the leadership of the Latinx Kitchen Cabinet housed out of the @SanFranciscoFoundation. During the discussion, leaders shared the origin story of this group and the ongoing challenges and opportunities facing Latinx communities in the Bay Area with the LCF team.
Down in Southern California, LCF stopped by @TiaChuchas Cultural Center and Bookstore to witness the magic of our #PoderArte partners! Our team was in awe of their office and the murals that provide the community a safe space rooted in culture and power.
On Thursday, our Latinos in Tech Giving Circle hosted the conversation AI y Latinidad: Bridging Cultures and Building Futures at LinkedIn in San Francisco. Together with our partner organizations, @devmissionorg and @digitalnest, they discussed AI and the impacts and opportunities it can create within our communities.
Our team had some community-centered fun over the weekend! Our VP of Economic Justice volunteered to dress up as El Chavo at @sac_lcac’s Día del Niño! We are honored to provide Sacramento’s Latino Center of Art & Culture with mini-grants that help spread joy throughout the year! | Posted on 30/Apr/2024 05:23:39
