Marco Marco Instagram – The first step in constructing this adaptation involved deconstructing the painting’s elements and isolating the subject along with various elements within frame. These freed bits of painting were then repositioned in order to squeeze the most recognizable parts onto Gottmik’s slender frame, in order to maintain the integrity of the original work.  For the back,  the subject was removed entirely, and new background painted in its place.  Finally, both sides of the landscape were extended to correct for symmetry and miter into each other at center back.  The motif was then brightened to allow the colors to show through more since the original is fairly muted. After digitizing the pattern, it was overlaid onto the artwork so that the art would match across arms, gloves, head and finally hand painted onto the zipper.  Once crystallization had begun on the train,  it was clear that it would be too heavy to maintain its shape, so we went in and removed large swaths of fabric being careful to not disturb already embellished areas and hand-laid a structural framework under the train as a way to display @thediscodaddy and his team’s beautiful handiwork. | Posted on 29/May/2024 23:05:16
