I’m so heartbroken and completely shocked. So raw.
This guy had a special spirit about him. He was one of those people that truly left an impact on my life in such a positive way and I don’t even think he knew it. I was just one of the many many people Eric trained, but to me, he was special. His positivity was radiant. His cheesy jokes were solely to put a smile on others faces. Aside from working out with him virtually, I haven’t seen him in person in probably two years, but still to this day, if I’m having a down day, my wife will still say, “why don’t you call Eric to see if he has time for a zoom workout” . His light was so bright, you couldn’t help but to feel better around him.
His gym was like no other. I really only worked out there a few months, but it is such a great place. It’s not a bunch of meatheads trying to look tough. It’s guys and girls trying to do better. Be better. Encourage each other along the way and celebrate the “wins” together. He trained a lot of actors and we always heard when someone at the gym booked a gig. We all rooted for each other.
…. Of all the people that I know, he is absolute last on the list of people that would take their own life. I can’t help but to think he was spending every last bit of light he had in him on other people. To make them smile while he he silently suffered.
Man there are going to be so people that will miss him dearly. I’m one of them.
Sorry for this word vomit. It’s somehow cathartic to type this out.
I’m aware that most all of you don’t know him, but if you’ve read this far, now you know that this guy was special. An absolute light.
