Morgxn Instagram – probably the proudest moment of my life. never in a million years did I think I’d move back to Nashville and in doing so find a room full of LGBTQ people THRIVING here – or more specifically – not letting the state continue to trample on our rights.
I don’t have the exact number but the state tried to pass over 30 different anti-LGBTQ bills this year. because of the work of the @tnpridechamber and so many people in this room – only 4 actually passed.
That number should be 0 but this is what it means to be queer or “other” in Tennessee.
Another friend who won last night @justinepruett said something about how he had no idea in moving back to Nashville he’d find such COMMUNITY
And I echo that. I went to public high school in this city. I could not have left fast enough.
I’ll share a clip from the speech later but I’m just so grateful to the chamber and to this city for this recognition
It is an honor being back home.
