Nathaniel Buzolic Instagram – Genesis 14 paints a vivid picture as we track the story & events of Abraham’s life.
Verses 1-16 highlights 9 warring Kings. Kings who Battle one another for land, power & possessions – killing & kidnapping as they wish.
5 kings from the Jordan valley who wage war against the 4 kings of the East.
Abraham is sent on a rescue mission to save his nephew & on his return in verses 17-21 we are introduced to a mysterious figure – The King of Salem (Jerusalem)
The king of Salem Carries the title of Melchizedek which means King of righteousness.
He is also described as a priest of the most high. A priestly king who offers Peace & blessings to Abraham as he returns from His victory against these wicked kings.
In verse 20b – Abram offers up homage by giving Melchizedek a tenth of everything.
What do we see – 9 Kings who fight for power & the ONE King who is A TRUE PRINCE of PEACE.
The author of Hebrews describes Melchizedek in this manner.
The king of Salem, kohen of God Most High. He met Abraham returning from the defeat of the kings & blessed him, & to him Abraham apportioned a tenth of everything. Without father, without mother, without genealogy, having neither beginning of days nor end of life but made like Ben-Elohim, he remains a kohen for all time. Now see how great this man is! Even Abraham the patriarch gave him a tenth out of the plunder.
The Principal – While the kings of this world rage, only one King deserves our praise & worship.
A king & a priest in the order of Melchizedek – Yeshua Ben Elohim, Yeshua Ben David
Pslam 2:6-12
I have set up My king upon Zion, My holy mountain. I will declare the decree of Adonai. He said to me:
You are My Son— today I have become Your Father. Ask Me, and I will give the nations as Your inheritance, and the far reaches of the earth as Your possession.
You shall break the nations with an iron scepter. You shall dash them in pieces like a potter’s jar.
So now, O kings, be wise, take warning, O judges of the earth! Serve Adonai with fear, and rejoice with trembling.
Kiss the Son, lest He become angry, and you perish along your way.
since His wrath may flare up suddenly. Happy is everyone taking refuge in Him! | Posted on 20/Aug/2022 06:50:17
