Nicholas Aldis Instagram – “Show me your friends, and I’ll show you your future.” Last Friday, one of my closest friends on earth was at Barclays in Brooklyn to see Smackdown. After the show, we celebrated at his newest venture, Ray’s Hometown Bar, one of several his firm owns and operates.
We grew up in West Norfolk… People at our school didn’t think big; in fact we were total outcasts by the time we finished high school. Thank God we had each other…we told each other over and over that we were going to go to America and be something. We’ve had ups and downs, and things didn’t always go exactly like we planned, but where’s the fun in that? But as we drank and laughed into the wee hours with his kid brother (who’s now a hedge fund banker also crushing it) we reflected on where we are and how fortunate we are to love what we do and never feel like we’re at work, and how we’re so glad we didn’t take the easy option, or let other people put limits on our aspirations, because we had each other to always say “fuck that, go for it.”
One of the best things in the world is to have a friend who is succeeding and being 100% proud of them and know that they’re 100% proud of you. Show me your friends and I’ll show you your future.
