Paul Rabil Instagram – I never thought I’d write a book. Mostly because I wasn’t a good reader and my school papers would come back marked up in red. That part of life never came naturally to me. But neither did lacrosse. My first play was a turnover, we lost, I wanted to quit, but my mom kept me on the local rec team to teach me about commitment.
I’ve since learned what this journey is all about — dreaming big, surrounding yourself with people who will push you, and going for it. Nothing in life is out of reach.
A lot of thank you’s are in order — to @ryanholiday for giving me the confidence to write and @penguinusa for being my head coach throughout this endeavor — one that felt like a real accomplishment for that young kid who hated writing, preferring to sketch. Thank you to Oakland lacrosse, Harlem lacrosse, Hopkins, Hofstra and every program who gave me the time and room to visit and talk about my journey this week. To each of you who sent me a photo of the goal you get your 100 shots on. To those who hosted me this week to help promote this thing. To every athlete who shared the book. To my family, friends and colleagues. This book has a bit of you on every page.
