Imagine this, being all alone on stage performing Bollywood music in a US state where I could be arrested for being in drag. Imagine being an indo-Caribbean queer Canadian who was too scared to take up space because in Guyana where their parents are from – being publically “intimate” with someone of the same sex is still illegal.
This was my visual love letter to all of you who put hurdles in your way because society makes you shrink. It’s time to SHUT IT DOWN! We all have purpose and we all have love to give. We’re MUCH stronger than we think – but first we have to fall in love with ourselves, then we’ll be able to take up all the space we were once afraid to fill.
*yes i am LOSING MY MIND that i performed a childhood favourite song of mine on an America network as iconic as HBO, the SAME network that I fell in love with live performing when I watched the Dream Within a Dream tour with Britney Spears YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
