Riyadh Khalaf Instagram – Unbelievably honoured to be one of the first gay men to give blood following today’s historic change in policy which no longer prevents gay and bi men from donating unless they abstained from sex for 3 months. Now the rules will be the same for everyone, regardless of sexuality and determined by an individual’s sexual behaviour rather than sexuality (you must have had the same sexual partner for at least 3 months amongst other requirements). We made a film about the 30 year journey to this point, those who fought the good fight and why this is about more than just blood donation, it’s about equality and the ability to give one of the greatest gifts a person can give.
