Ryuichi Sakamoto Instagram – SKMT | dig
While composing for “The Fortress”, Ryuichi enlisted several musicians from around the world to craft his vision.
Ryuichi traveled to Korea to record with musicians and an ensemble playing traditional instruments and to Seattle, WA (USA) to record with a large string orchestra.
He worked remotely with The Frantic Percussion Ensemble (with whom he also worked on ‘The Revenant’), and worked with NY musician Weston Olencki recording Trombone.
Ryuichi also played an instrument called “Spinet”(a type of harpsichord), which predates the piano and is contemporary to the period in which the film takes place.
