Ted Cruz Instagram – Today in 1836, brave Texians won a decisive victory over Mexican forces at the Battle of San Jacinto.
This victory secured Texas’s independence from Mexico.
For nearly 10 years, Texas was its own independent republic.
And in 1845, Texas was admitted to the Union as the 28th state.
