Thomas Brag Instagram – Growing up, football players were the DEFINITION of unreachable, even more than movie stars. We’d play at recess at school, then of course FIFA at home where we’d pass the ball to the fastest players and make a run for it.
Fast forward 15 years and somehow I got to play with and against several childhood heroes while raising funds for education.. Kaka, Hazard, Roberto Carlos, Drogba, Villa, Makelele, Tim Cahill, Arsene Wenger, Antonio Conte… Doesn’t make any sense.
To be honest I hadn’t ran on a pitch in 10 years and feeling my rusty 30-year-old legs motivated me a TON to get back into better cardio. (Don’t tell anyone I got nutmegged to then concede a goal pls).
My favorite part however was the small interactions: getting a 5min sports massage before the game next to Drogba then jumping in his arms once he scored 😅 talking in the hallway with Eden Hazard, or trying to convince Antonio Conte to let me back on the pitch..
Once in a blue moon we get these seemingly impossible to open doors flung open, and this was a wild one. Grateful for the experience and for the millions of dollars raised 🙏 | Posted on 27/Feb/2024 03:09:18
