I dreamed of being a pilot since I was a teenager. From virtual pilot to the real deal. It took years to get the means to do it. Complex, high performance, aerobatics, single, twin, IFR…it was a journey. This last little trip to Canada will be my last as a pilot. Maybe forever. Maybe just for a bit. Life changes. Chapters come and go. Sometimes sad to say goodbye. Sometimes a relief. Or both. Thanks to @hannajean__ for putting this little montage of the trip together. Wonder what the next passion will be? Maybe it’ll be breeding killer ants. Maybe I’ll go full heel and be Ant Lord. And people will be like “is that like Ant Man?” And I’ll just snap at them “No relation!” Which wasn’t really what they were asking but I’ll say it with such intensity that it ends the conversation and I can go back to breeding my precious, DEADLY ants…
Went and saw the new Fallout series premiere and oooo mamma it’s a goodie. Great to see Moises after all this time since Kings Of Summer and so happy to see Graham Wagner showrunning, we were both part of a very special and formative (for me at least) Toronto comedy scene like twenty years ago and it’s just so cool to see so many of us doing well.

Today on stream I opened up Unreal 5 for the first time ever and followed a tutorial. Someone in my chat offered to hop on Discord and walk me through a couple things. Despite my multiple come-aparts I did actually have fun and it’s really quite rewarding to learn something new. I’ll def hop into some more coding this week. Enjoy watching these mental breaks. Been on Twitch a lot and playing on these modified Red Dead servers where everyone roleplays a character. It’s basically video game LARPing. All totally improvised. I know Twitch can be a big time commitment for some so I (with editor @shooklyntv) cut down a YouTube edit of a particularly spicy adventure and here’s the intro. Today on my Twitch stream we had a funeral for Deputy Scrump Toggins, a cowboy character I played on a roleplay server for Red Dead Online. Someone in my Twitch community named GPatt made this rather touching montage of memorable moments over the year and a half I played this character. I’ve been doing long form improv for a loooooong time but I never thought I’d play an improvised role for that long. Kind of a trip. This montage might not make sense to some but you can see at times despite it being mainly for goofs there were some genuinely touching moments that really moved me. Anyway. Here’s to being a dork and pretending sometimes you’re big ol tough but sensitive cowboy.
Around this time last year I went to Tanzania and hiked Kilimanjaro and went on a safari and these were two things that weren’t things I thought I’d do and I’m so happy I got to do them. This year I’m going to Nepal and hiking to Everest Base Camp. I do like a bit of adventure every now and then.
