Tom Prior Instagram – I love this poem by Rumi below. I always have. But when we learn to truly embody and use this poem as a practice, that’s when the fun really starts. Instead of ‘shoving down’ emotions and not allowing them to be felt, we can feel them in safety and even pleasure, and the most miraculous thing is – when they get seen and felt, the situations stop in our reality/life. Cos all this time we haven’t wanted to see these emotions or situations – and so we reject an aspect of reality. Entering into non duality we welcome all of experience. And in there we find true Peace. True Happiness. We find the Truth. We are cleaning the lenses of perception when we embrace all aspects of experience. None of it is right or wrong. Good or bad. This being human is a guest house.
Every morning a new arrival.
A joy, a depression, a meanness, some momentary awareness comes as an unexpected visitor.
Welcome and entertain them all!
Even if they’re a crowd of sorrows, who violently sweep your house empty of its furniture, still, treat each guest honorably.
He may be clearing you out for some new delight.
The dark thought, the shame, the malice, meet them at the door laughing, and invite them in.
