Not to mention, this is my FIRST @variety magazine mention as a DIRECTOR! For those who know me, you’re aware that filmmaking has been my calling for as long as I can remember. This project wasn’t just about taking risks; it was about leaping into uncharted territories with the aim to produce something at the highest level I’ve ever attempted. It demanded overcoming significant challenges, engaging with complex learning curves, and pushing the boundaries of what I thought possible. Every moment of hard work, securing investors, raising funds, and mastering the intricacies of Studio post-production workflow was driven by my pursuit of excellence. And honestly, every step has been worth it.
Written by my talented brother @phil_dov in 2021, “Vigilante” is more than just a film; it’s the culmination of everything I’ve learned as a filmmaker.
As we gear up for the Voices of Culture category at this year’s American Black Film Festival, I am overwhelmed with gratitude for the immense growth and dedication that brought us to this point.
This is just the beginning. “Vigilante” is a small picture of a much bigger DREAM.
