Abigail Hawk Instagram – I am not much of a resolution person. ‘Resolute’ is unwavering, unswerving. ‘Resolute’ seems so brittle and harsh – I suppose we could view Winter that way. But I see Winter as coziness and warmth; a nesting and nurturing; 🪽rest🪽. I like my new years gentle, easy, soft. I baby them like the new creatures they are. After the old year ended in bombardment – visceral, visual, virtual – I yearned for complete quiet. Hadn’t floated since 2017, when I was deeply entrenched in postpartum depression. Today’s experience @liftfloats was different. Then, I so desperately grasped for peace. An escape. Today, I just… let go. I let peace come to me if she wanted to. No need for escape… rather… a release of what was no longer serving me. I wasn’t able to fully settle my mental tab today, but I began building a wavering foundation. One that will move with me🪽gently🪽as I build this structure that will become 2024.
