Aiste Miseviciute Instagram – I am very happy to be part of Ura Miami, the first overseas opening of Tokyo Sushi legend, Hidefumi Namba @hide.namba . “Ura,” which means “back” or “reverse side” in Japanese, is a unique project and members only club in Miami opening this fall, that will include a ten-seat counter dining room by Sushi Namba (headed by Namba’s senior apprentice Yuma Takanashi) a Japanese garden for art, pause and reflection, and a listening room centered on decompression. In Ura’s listening room, Shunta Yamakawa, the master mixologist from Tokyo’s Bar Cocktailante Oboro, will craft his fruit-focused cocktails alongside a bespoke analog system designed by Soundlux Audio @soundluxaudio.
Namba-san, whose Tokyo restaurant holds the Tabelog Gold Medal Award, the highest accolade by Japan’s most prestigious restaurant guide, is known for his obsession with rice temperature and texture, which he adjusts according to various types of fish, clams, and crustaceans. His dedication to top-quality ingredients is also evident in his choice of fish, which he personally selects every morning from the Toyosu market in Tokyo.
At Ura Miami, all the ingredients will come from the same suppliers as those in Tokyo and will be flown in three times a week. The sake and wine offerings will include some of the most exclusive sakes from Japan, while the stunning space, featuring stone, wood, and concrete, is designed by the Colombian design and architecture firm, 5 Sōlidos.
Ura members will also be granted exclusive access to the refferal-only Sushi Namba and Cocktailante Oboro in Tokyo as well as travel assistance for their time in Japan.
