Red wine poached pears! This looks fancy but is actually so easy!! It’s a sexy little recipe to make for Valentine’s Day. Boil 2 cups Forever Gold red wine with 3/4 cup of sugar. Add the peel of 1 orange and its juice, and any spices you have on hand, like a cinnamon stick, vanilla, and star anise. Peel 4 pears and add to the simmering pot. Turn to evenly poach for about 15-20 minutes. Remove pears, and reduce syrup until it is syrupy. Serve warm or cool with a dollar of mascarpone or whip cream and a drizzle of syrup.
