Amanda Lamb Instagram – This can apply to any room in your house but I’ve chosen my bedroom because it’s my favourite room and I spend a lot of time in it…
1: DECLUTTER… I cannot emphasise this enough. Even if the rest of the house is chaos, have one room that isn’t.. get three big boxes, one for recycling, throwing out, one for charity shops/Vinted or Car boot sales and one for things to keep. Get rid of old books, bras, out of date cosmetics, the list is endless but clearing your space will do wonders for you head space too
2: KEEP IT NEUTRAL. Decided on a calm, neutral colour scheme. I chose a shade from my painting and worked everything around that. The walls are Pink Ground by @farrowandball and are a great backdrop to then play around with.
3. ACCESSORISE with different fabrics and textures but keep the colour palette similar and but the things you love not what everyone else thinks you should have
4. IF IT TAKES LESS THAN A MINUTE TO DO, DO IT!. Hang up the dressing gown, put the knickers in the laundry bin, close the drawers. It means when you come back to the space it should (hopefully) always be messy free
5 SMELL GOOD: Candles, rooms sprays, fresh flowers all add to the way a room looks and feels, open the windows (when it stops chuffing raining) don’t go overboard though, you don’t want it to smell like Barbara Cartland’s bedroom.. | Posted on 30/May/2024 18:12:00
