Anna Vocino Instagram – One of the most consistent joys of making Free Radio was that the comedy always came from the most unexpected places. In addition to the improvised interviews, the behind-the-scenes antics were also made up on the spot. A perfect example accidental hilarity was when Gerry Bednob had to break a CNN producer’s car window with an aluminum baseball bat. Believing we had only one chance, we had all the cameras rolling. However, it turned out to be surprisingly difficult to shatter a car window, especially when all the windows were rolled up due to pressure or some shit. Gerry’s repeated failed attempts only added to the hilarity and was actually perfect for his character. Eventually, DJ Lance’s “entourage” managed to break the window, but we kept all the failed attempts in the scene and it ended up being one of my favorites of the series.
