Annabel Crabb Instagram – So much commentary around this week about the King’s new portrait by Jonathan Yeo… this one, by the @washingtonpost’s @sebastian.smee, made me laugh out loud … “unaccountably frightening” 😂😂😂 (swipe for highlights) Smee is the reason I subscribe to the Washington Post – and his Insta feed is a treasure trove of insight into beautiful and surprising works. Personally, I reckon the painting’s colour scheme is an INCREDIBLY bold direction for a subject who once mused aloud upon his longing be a sanitary product. Maybe the whole thing is an epic troll by Big Tampax? Sorry, I made this high art discussion yucky didn’t I. As you were. But give the Smee a follow, ya won’t regret it.
