Safeguarding the land from logging and development became a reality thanks to the multi-million dollar collaboration involving The Nature Conservancy in Alabama, Patagonia, and an undisclosed donor who contributed 2/3, $10 million, from their own pocket. “This is one of the most important conservation victories that we’ve ever been a part of,” Mitch Reid, state director for The Nature Conservancy in Alabama said. “It’s protected a vitally important complex of land, almost 8,000 acres, critically important to the health of the Mobile Delta and then, by extension, Mobile Bay and the Gulf of Mexico.” | Posted on 04/Mar/2024 20:43:36
