My family and friends love it, I hope yours do too!! ❤️ #seasontotaste Apple Crumble Cake Ingredients Sponge 200g unsalted butter, softened 200g golden caster sugar 4 medium eggs 200g self raising flour 50g custard powder (optional) 2 apples (I used British Jazz) 1 tsp cinnamon Crumble Topping 150g self raising flour 100g unsalted butter, cold 100g golden caster sugar 50g oats 50g demerara sugar Method Oven on to 180C. Grease and line a brownie tin. Core the apples (no need to peel) then finely slice. Place in a bowl, add cinnamon and mix so that all the slices are covered. Make the crumble topping. Cut the cold butter into small cubes then, in a mixing bowl, rub into the flour until it resembles bread crumbs. Mix through the sugar and oats. Set aside. Make the sponge. Beat the butter until light and fluffy then add the sugar and beat until smooth. Add 2 eggs, beat, add half the flour and the custard powder, beat then repeat. Add the sliced apples and fold through the batter until they are well distributed. Pour the sponge batter into the prepared tin and smooth down the top. Pour the crumble topping over the sponge then sprinkle on the demerara sugar. Bake for 40-45 minutes until a skewer comes out clean.
