Candace Nelson Instagram – 5 life lessons I’ve learned by 50 🧁👇🏻 Today marks a huge milestone birthday, and I thought I’d celebrate by sharing the biggest lessons I’ve learned along the way with you. (And with a classic Sprinkles cupcake 😉) ✨ Trust your intuition. We all have an inner voice that can guide us through life’s decisions – all we have to do is learn to listen. Listening to your gut, and acting upon that inner wisdom, is a skill that gets better with practice! The sooner you start trusting yourself and acting on that inner wisdom, the more confident you’ll become. 🤍 Surround yourself with supportive people. This one is a biggie. If it weren’t for my husband Charles supporting my dreams and affirming my “crazy” ideas, I’m not sure I would’ve had the confidence to open Sprinkles. Later in life, I’ve also discovered the power of leaning on my female friendships, investing in like-minded entrepreneurs, and choosing the right people to partner with. (Like @danieleuditi in our @pizzana venture!) 🌎 Dream big, but start small. I’ve always believed in taking action on your dreams. That said, I have learned that it never pays to be reckless. Rather than diving in headfirst, take smaller, more measured steps toward your goals to make sure you’re on the right path! 👀 Failure > regret. The fear of failure has paralyzed me from taking action many times in life. But after facing that fear and doing it anyway, I realized this truth: I’d rather fall flat on my face than not try at all. Fail fast, take the lesson and keep going! 🤷🏼‍♀️ Mistakes are just a part of life. Don’t allow mistakes to derail you on your journey. Mistakes are an inevitable part of life – whether as an entrepreneur, a partner, a parent, or simply as a human. The choice lies in whether you allow those mistakes to define you or use them to drive you!
