It’s been a weird past couple of weeks following the passing of my grandma. I’ve been really quiet on social media and I think a large part of that is due to me not wanting to be seen cause I don’t want to deal with people asking how I’m doing. Because I honestly don’t know how I’m doing. Since her death I haven’t had a moment to cry or mourn her. I’m so busy with keeping the house running and keeping a small child alive that I feel I don’t have the space or capacity to fully absorb the fact that she’s gone. On 1 hand I hate that I can’t just take a day to lie in bed and cry my eyes out. On the other hand I’m thankful I’m distracted with being a mum so I don’t fall into a likely depression.
Navigating parenthood is so much deeper and wider than I ever thought. Your emotions and feelings become secondary to what needs to get done. Everything is geared towards the wellbeing of your child that your own self gets lost and neglected sometimes.
Not to worry tho, friends. It’s not a sad time. It’s just a… different time. But this too I shall overcome eventually.
