Giving birth is hard. Giving birth without support is even harder. And I think that if you haven’t got that support be it your community, be it your village, be it a medical team is utterly heartbreaking. Women are amazing beings who are able to bring new life into this world to keep the world going. The thought of women going through what should be a beautiful moment but in horrific circumstances is just heartbreaking.
So, for #InternationalDayOfTheMidwife on Sunday I’m joining @savechildrenUK to celebrate all the brilliant midwives and healthcare professionals.
Together we believe women should have better access to maternal healthcare, because delivering a baby safely is where lasting change for children starts.
