Christina Pascucci Instagram – What a week at the Milken Conference!
I’m grateful to have met many exceptional people this week —and heard from many fascinating figures including Elon Musk, Bill Clinton, and lesser known but equally fascinating names. This man maybe impacted me most.
Let me explain why: I’ve found during my pregnancy and new mom journey that while some countries revere the new mom, the United States largely ignores her.
We are the only developed nation that offers no paid leave for parents (thankfully California offers some support, but many states don’t). Yet in dozens of states, it’s illegal to separate a dog from her newborn pups before 8 weeks. Some might say our actions indicate we value dogs more than human moms/babies in America.
That’s why I was so grateful for Nick’s kindness. I’m nursing currently and had to come out of the conference to pump in the car every two hours, and as head of parking, he made sure I could have access to my car to do so. It was a simple gesture but one he didn’t have to do. It made me feel so supported 😭 Thank you, Nick!
