During last night’s debate, the frontrunners in the U.S. Senate race made it clear that they don’t understand the people they’re running to serve, like Latinos, who represent 40% of this great state.
Adam Schiff provided lip service, and said he’d fight for comprehensive immigration reform as U.S. Senator. He served 20 years in Congress, including when Democrats had a majority in the House, Senate, and White House, and still, he did nothing. What is he waiting for?
Steve Garvey is out of touch, effectively saying that all Latinos are immigrants and ‘came here the right way,’ when many Latinos in America have heritage in this country that goes back generations.
I have been alongside our Latino communities highlighting issues that are important to them whether it’s affordable housing, healthcare, fighting against crime, or immigration reform.
We need a U.S. Senator who understands Californians.
