Condoleezza Rice Instagram – I am truly saddened to learn of the passing of Madeleine Albright, an American giant whose life and legacy will be remembered for generations to come. She was the last secretary of state for the 20th century and the first of the 21st century. She was not only a trailblazer for women worldwide, but a fearless fighter for freedom on behalf of all humanity. For me personally, I have lost an invaluable colleague and a very dear friend whom I will miss tremendously. 
 
When I was studying music at the University of Denver, I took a class on international politics from a professor who changed the course of my life. That professor was Madeleine’s father, Josef Korbel. How extraordinary that two female secretaries of state, from opposites sides of the political spectrum, would be influenced by the same man. While we had our differences on policy, we shared a deep appreciation for this country and for freedom around the world. 
 
Hers really was a great American story: that one can come from humble beginnings and go on to change the world in remarkable ways. Madeleine Albright left her mark. She made a difference. May she rest in peace. | Posted on 24/Mar/2022 08:54:13
