Daniella Monet Instagram – Here’s the truth👇🏼
I’m all about living a slow and intentional life. Making memories with the kids, playing with them in nature, cooking with them, etc.
BUT this does not mean I’m anti-TV, and I believe in finding balance.
Being a mom is hard work, so worth it, but hard work!
So, while I encourage holistic and mindful living, I do *try* to find TV shows that aren’t overly stimulating/just have a message that I can get behind! (✨COMMENT “SHOWS” and I’ll DM you a list of shows Gio Ivry watch).
Screen time happens and parenting is a huge balancing act.
So what is overstimulation in shows and what can it do?
📺Many children’s TV shows are designed with bright colors, fast-paced animations, and loud sound effects. While this can be engaging, it may lead to overstimulation, making it harder for kids to concentrate and process information.
📺Studies have also shown that exposure to highly stimulating content can contribute to shorter attention spans in children. They become accustomed to rapid changes and constant excitement, which can affect their ability to focus on less stimulating activities like reading or quiet play.
This balancing act trickles into all aspects of parenting, including nutrition. While we aim to provide them with wholesome meals, sometimes they just want the cheezy rice without the broccoli, and that’s okay too.
It’s allll a balancing act.
This is a reminder to be gentle to yourself, mama 🫶🏼
