Dewi Lestari Instagram – My other destination in the Middle East was Oman. Sama sekali tidak punya bayangan sebelumnya tentang Oman. But, my BFF @climbingbird convinced me to go there. For her, Oman is one of the most beautiful places ever, and she is definitely someone who has seen the world. Oman is also a very safe place for a solo female traveler. Mulai dari bandara hingga tiba di jantung kota Muscat, lalu ke Shangri-La Barr Al Jissah, everything was smooth sailing. Aku senang dipanggil “sister” di mana-mana! 😄 People were helpful, the hotel staff were super friendly, the resort ( the whole city!) was gorgeous. Pantai Al Jissah ini pantai sunrise, jadi harus bela-belain bangun pagi-pagi buta kalau mau lihat matahari terbit. And, yes, it’s worth it! The weather was warm in this time of year, but still bearable. Clear sky everyday. I had a great and peaceful time just wandering around ❤️ Truly, this is a place that I would gladly come back to. #Oman #Muscat
Dewi Lestari Instagram – I spent my first few days in Muscat just exploring the city life. I was lucky to find some Indonesian friends in town. Had coffee & breakfast over the beach side with Saras and her Omani husband, Ayman (plus baby Zizi ❤️). Spent almost a whole day with the lovely couple Isni & Alex, who both happened to be my book readers ☺️ Had a chance to visit Alex & Isni’s house and see some of the Muscat’s gorgeous residential areas. Masih gak habis fikri dengan alam Oman yang ajaib ini. Muscat seperti dibentengi gunung batu—aneka model dan bentuk—bahkan di dalam kompleks perumahan sekalipun, “pagar” gunung nyaris tak pernah absen. Pengalaman ke Souq Muttrah juga gak kalah unik (slide 9). Begitu melihat muke-muke Asia yang masuk pasar, babang-babangnya tiba-tiba langsung switch dari bahasa Arab ke: “Murah, murah, satu rial, satu rial!” Alumnus Duolingo semua nih gw rasa! 😳 For me, the most fascinating part in traveling is the human connection—listening to their stories, jokes, small talks.
