Dia Frampton Instagram – When I was in my teens, I used to write songs about books, and stories that would blossom from my imagination. I wanted the lyrics to be philosophical and smart and deep. I read Salinger and Bukowski and Plath. I was trying so hard to be interesting, instead of just… being myself. Now, in my 30s, I feel that our lyrics have gotten more… direct. How can I say what I mean in the most authentic way that is simple and pure? Our new song, “Casual,” is about where I am now in my life. Struggling to find meaningful connections in a city that’s always on the go. I’ve learned to speak up for what I want. I don’t want something casual. I want something fucking spectacular.
