„Speaking with Schüle during the filming of the second season of Marie Antoinette, Schüle is well versed in discussing the depth behind her titular role. “She’s a deeply misunderstood and misjudged woman… As I began to understand the trauma she must have carried with her – leaving home at 14 to never return, married to a man she didn’t know, [feeling] such a strong sense of humiliation [because she was unable to] produce an heir for years, I began to connect to her.”
The role sparked Schüle to reconsider the limitations within her own career path too, “I realised most of my characters had existed solely to serve a man or a love story. Looking at male characters, that’s rarely the case. So, when I got the Marie Antoinette role, I was so excited.”
The revolution of storytelling, therefore, has been a point of fascination for Schüle for the majority of her lifetime. And now, alongside a role in „Die Ironie des Leben“ (Markus Goller), she takes her position behind the lens, with the launch of her own production company in Germany and her first film project already in the works. “Producing is so creative… to bring a project to life … I think that’s a force I have.”
Despite the new and incredible era of film for Schüle, the journey to contentment is her greatest end goal. “Sometimes we forget to take a step back and appreciate life, and not always be wanting more”.“
