I'm beyond grateful and honored to be receiving an Honorary Doctorate from Concordia University (Faculty of Fine Arts) on June 6th, 2024, as the first Haitian-born Canadian-Quebecer-Montrealer. That was quite surprised (happily shocked) when Mr. Graham Carr, the president and vice chancelor of Concordia University, called me with the great news. Saying I was speechless would be a massive understatement. “An Honorary Doctorate of Fine Arts from Concordia University is awarded to Fabienne Colas based on her remarkable career and commitment to promoting greater representation of cultural diversity in the arts and entertainment worlds in Québec, Canada and internationally.” - Graham Carr, President and Vice-Chancellor of Concordia University I'm humbled to be in the company of extraordinaray people such as Academy Award Nominating filmmaker Denis Villeneuve (Dune), and Sheila C Jonson, Co-founder of BET and the only African American woman to have ownership in three professional sports teams. Being a recipient of a Doctorate Honoris Causa from Concordia University is a true honor for me and my community. I dedicate this unbelievable recognition to my family, my devoted team at the Fabienne Colas Foundation ( all our festivals), to all visible minority artists out there who are working in the shadows or trying to get their voices heard, to my loyal partners whohelp us move the needle every day for massive inclusion; and to YOU all, audiences from here and abroad, following and supporting us! This honorary doctorate encourages me more than ever to continue breaking down barriers and building more bridges. Thanks to everyone at Concordia University and the Faculty of Fine Arts, who made this all happen. Fabienne Colas Instagram – #BirthdayDayGirl!

(“The only time you should ever look back is to see how far you’ve come!”)

(Time does fly!)

(I work hard and party harder!)

(Thank YOU!).
Fabienne Colas Instagram – Folks, I’m so looking forward to sharing some cool news with you next week! (No, it’s not you think, it’s better! :))) For now, let’s keep it a #Secret ;)
