During Dr. King’s funeral, a tape recording was played in which King spoke of how he wanted to be remembered after his death. He said, “I’d like somebody to mention that day that Martin Luther King, Jr., tried to give his life serving others”. He was assassinated at the age of 39 on a Memphis hotel balcony in 1968. Dr. King and his colleagues advocated and stood for radical nonviolence with an eagerness to build allies across ethnic lines on both an intellectual and moral basis. It must not be forgotten. One of the only surviving members of King’s civil rights circle, Clarence B.
