This is one of the most important times of our year
and we’ve been celebrating this ancient
Celtic pagan festival for thousands of years.
It’s the end of winters challenges and darkness
and a step into abundance, bounty and light.
It marks the halfway point between
Spring Equinox and Summer Solstice
It’s a festival of life, growth, rebirth,
of fertile land, warmth of the sun
and is celebrated with a festival of Fire.
Fires were and are lit and danced around
at Uisneach the spiritual centre of Ireland,
the birthplace of Goddess Erú
who Ireland/Eire is named after.
