I am a type1 diabetic from the age of 7. No, it’s not the same type that old people get or what your parents hereditarily got. It’s very different. It happens in children mostly and we do not produce the hormone insulin and so the ONLY medicine is to take subcutaneous insulin injections whenever we eat or drink anything other than water.
This is my Superpower . It makes me and the kids with it more strong as they have to work twice as hard as normal healthy children . It makes us more reselient, more determined, more patient, more kind, more empathetic and more in tune with our bodies and needs . We learn to live with it . I have learned to weave my type1 diabetes needs into the already challenging field of acting because of my unending passion for acting. The varying schedules, timings, food ,emotions ,stress can all create havoc but when there is a will there is always a way.
It works amazingly when you have a superb , understanding team around who support you. Thankyou @director_rajeshmohanan for creating that environment.
