Jade Tailor Instagram – What does it mean to walk on water? Some might say that it’s symbolic of performing an impossible or even god-like task. Others might say that walking on water is symbolic of being able to not drown in the chaos or rising above it all…
It may often feel virtually impossible to avoid drowning in the sorrows of the pain we may be facing during this time in our lives as we either experience or witness the loss of humanity.
For me, it is a constant struggle to keep my head above the sorrowful waters that aim to swallow us whole… and yet… something keeps me afloat.
Some may call it unreasonable, naivety, or others faith in something bigger than the self, or even delusion… but I cannot help but believe in the impossible even when the rest of the world does not. I believe in people. I believe in humanity. I believe we can heal. I believe we must.
There is a phrase my Aba (dad) used to say אם אין אני לי מי לי. Which translates to “if I’m not for me who will be.” Alone that phrase can seem very pessimistic to me. As if to say I don’t need anyone but myself. Though my Aba left out a crucial part of this quote. It should read as follows, “If I am not for me, who will be for me? And when I am for myself alone, what am I? And if not now, then when?”
The second half is what keeps me above water. It is what keeps be believing for better or worse… Let’s be for one another and do it now. It is the only moment we have 🤍 | Posted on 10/Apr/2024 16:52:23
