Jaina Lee Ortiz Instagram – I’m still processing the current state of our movie/tv industry. For the 1st time in 63 years, @sagaftra and #wga are on strike simultaneously. The evolution of tv & movies have changed drastically, and our contracts need to change with it. I’m grateful that SAG-AFTRA and the WGA are standing up for artists rights. In this fight, we are fighting for fair wage increase, increased streaming residuals, improved healthcare, and AI regulation. The people who are also affected by this are the crew members (makeup and hair artists, props, catering/craft services, wardrobe, transportation and SO many other creative departments) who are the life line for our industry. Showing up in solidarity is what will keep us strong. We can do this. Let’s pave the way not just for us, but for the generations of artists, story tellers and creatives to come!
