Jane Goodall Instagram – 🌟 Jane’s global 90th birthday tour continues! Just last week in Prague, Dr. Goodall met with students, representatives, and teachers from five different schools, hosted by @ecp_prague.

🐸 Here, you see a student group sharing about their impactful frog restoration project. They also gifted Jane a charming paper frog model. She loved it so much, that it’s currently keeping her stuffed monkey, Mr. H, company in Jane’s hotel room!

Stay tuned for more stories from Jane on the road. (#DidYouKnow: She travels at least 300 days a year to spread her message of hope?) 🌍

Jane Goodall Instagram – What could be better than seeing wildlife return to the wild? πŸ’πŸŒΏ

πŸ”πŸŒ³ A year ago, we celebrated the successful release of 12 mandrills from JGI’s Tchimpounga Sanctuary in the Republic of Congo! Through a collaboration between JGI, Durham University , and @disney’s Animals, Science, and Environment, a team of experts planned the slow reintroduction, including measures to continue to support these mandrills out in their new home.

πŸ§ͺ🧫 During the reintroduction process, scientists monitored the stress levels of the mandrills through fecal samples β€” a noninvasive method. The results were very encouraging. Just a month after they were moved into Conkouati-Douli National Park, most of the mandrills showed lower stress levels than they ever had in the sanctuary; after a year, these were halved!

We often assume that wildlife is happier in the wild, but before this study, we never had proof! Since this initial reintroduction, four more mandrills have joined this group, with similar success. This win opens doors for further primate reintroductions. πŸ’šπŸ΅ Learn more β€” LINK IN BIO
