One found that participants performing boring tasks made fewer mistakes when they looked at nature during a 40-second break (compared to participants who looked at a concrete rooftop instead). Jessica Yellin Instagram – TEXAS WILDFIRE OUT OF CONTROL The Smokehouse Creek wildfire is raging in the Texas panhandle and parts of Western Oklahoma. The cause of the blaze is currently unknown, but it started Monday evening and has already burned more than 1 million acres. It’s now the largest wildfire in Texas history and the second-largest wildfire in US history. Here, footage from first responders and storm chasers shows the intensity of the flames as clouds of acrid smoke billow over the land — and some of the smoke has even reached as far north as Canada. Strong winds accelerated the fire’s spread through grasslands and other rural areas, even creating brief “fire tornadoes.” Firefighters are trying to contain the spread but progress is slow “due to rough terrain” according to the National Wildfire Coordinating Group.
