“Flood” conveys a paradox of our times: we live in an abundant society and, yet, the resources our survival relies upon are becoming increasingly scarce. For a decade now, Joana Vasconcelos has developed a series of artworks inspired by the reflection upon the element of water and the sustainability of our planet. And for the “Surrealist Bathroom” exhibition held at König Galerie in Berlin, opening on the 25th of April, she created an old-style bathtub completely covered in plug holes, unable to contain water and, therefore, defeating the very purpose it has been created for. Complete with a shower head and a metal chain, it reminds us that water is a luxury we should treasure. E para a exposição “Casa de Banho Surrealista”, patente na König Galerie em Berlim, que inaugura dia 25 de abril, concebeu uma banheira de estilo antigo completamente coberta de ralos.
