Joely Richardson Instagram – John Barrett. John did my sister Tasha’s hair for her wedding ( in towelling dressing gown on the day), bridesmaids ( me etc.). 2 nd photo when he accompanied me to the Met Gala . 3rd photo , John and Trinny ( he was God father to her daughter). John was basically a great family friend, and a great man. Self made hairdresser who came from Ireland to NY and managed to hard work his way to the big time- huge salons / huge clients , but to me what made him great was how many people he helped to find their feet. Huge lump and pricking tears as I write this as I shall forever be indebted to him – beyond grateful . John picked me up 25 yrs ago to the day , and held my hand over to the other side . He did this for many- legend in our community. I didn’t see him over the Covid years, few missed calls from both, then hearing he died last year.
