Brooklyn-based composer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist Malini Sridharan and I go way back, to our medieval-centered pop duo “The Remarkable Thing About Swans”, playing on friend’s porches in Michigan. Since, she has crafted an extraordinary collection of albums that feel much like song cycles, including her latest— “Tombeaux”, out now. It’s a passionate reflection on the human experience of the many facets of death—including reimaginings of the work of Mirabai and Ursula K.
