“I drew inspiration from one of AZADI.mp3’s DJ sets, where she fearlessly blended the sounds of her Iranian heritage with the pulsating beats of London club sonics, crafting a futuristic sound that echoes her diaspora narrative. Her eclectic taste in music subcultures serves as a driving force behind her aesthetic, seamlessly merging punk sensibilities with her cultural roots through sound.
For AZADI.mp3’s hat I sought to capture the boldness of her sonic creations while highlighting her distinctive Leo-esque hair. To visually represent the layers and textures of sound, I collaborated with artist @ed_curtis__ to design a multi-coloured applique textile, which was then
integrated into an oversized top hat shape. This fusion mirrors AZADI.mp3’s punk sensibilities and serves as a vibrant reflection of her fearless artistic vision.”
